Peace River Art Club Wins Big at Festival of Trees: First Place & Viewers' Choice!
The Peace River Art Club is celebrating following the Peace River Municipal Library's annual Festival of Trees. The HUB's entry in the full-size tree category not only secured the First Place prize but also captured the hearts of the community, winning the coveted Viewers' Choice Award.
The festival was a huge draw for the region this year, with a total of 2,829 visitors passing through the library to view the beautifully decorated trees. The Club’s participation underscores its commitment to community involvement and the celebration of local artistic talent.
A Tree Built by the Community
The success of the entry was a true collaborative effort, and the Peace River Art Club extends its sincere gratitude to the following individuals and groups:
Judy Kjehmus: For the generous donation of the artificial tree that served as our canvas.
Charity Dakin: For contributing the beautiful Stained Glass Star topper.
Holly McAllister and Janet Charlebois: For their dedication in creating handmade decorations, as well as the tireless work involved in setting up and decorating the tree.
All Art Hub members: For their time and creativity in making and contributing unique, donated decorations.
Peace River Library Staff: For their excellent work hosting and organizing a wonderful community event.
