"Wild Flowers of the Peace is a celebration of the land I grew up on. Prompted by the Art Club to reflect "art and the elements of our town," I chose to paint the wildflowers I've encountered throughout my life in the Peace River region. each bloom (fireweed, wild rose, violet, paintbrush, aster, bluebell, wild strawberry, woods lily, crocus, and sweet pea) was selected for its presence in our local landscape and its personal connection to my memories of home. The flowers are arranged in a collage across a vivid pink gradient background creating a sense of joyful abundance. I included painted drips in one corner as a playful nod to the act of painting itself, my own gesture to the prompt's invitation for art. This mural is a tribute to the quiet beauty of our natural surroundings and the emotional roots we each have in this place." - Korrie Dawn Iablonski
