Making Our Mark: Art Club's Mural Project for Alberta Culture Days

This year for Alberta Culture Days, the Peace River Art Club is embarking on a powerful project that goes beyond the canvas and onto the walls of our community! We are thrilled to announce the continuation of our mural initiative that not only beautifies our town but also empowers the next generation of artists.

Our Peace River Art Club members will be mentoring talented young artists from four local high schools, guiding them in creating magnificent murals at various locations around town. This project is a special opportunity to pass on the teachings of our own master artists, ensuring the skills and spirit of community art live on.

But this isn't just about the artists—it’s about our entire community! We invite everyone to join us for this unique cultural celebration. Come out on September 21 between 1 and 5 p.m. and watch as these incredible murals take shape before your eyes. You’ll get a firsthand look at the creative process and the collaborative spirit that makes it all possible. While you are there, young children and families can create a pulp paper mural piece to take home.

Then, on September 28, our mural artists will be back at it again, continuing the work they started on September 21. Come on out between 1 and 5 p.m. to watch or create your own piece of art as well! These two days of celebration are a chance to embrace our Alberta Culture, unleash your creativity, and leave with your own piece of art.

We can’t wait to share this amazing experience with you and see the incredible art that our young community members will create.
