Organization: Peace River Art Club – ART HUB

Position Type: Contract (4 hours/week)

About Us

The Peace River Art Club is a vibrant non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts within our community and region. We provide a platform for artists of all levels to showcase their work, learn, and connect with one another at the ART HUB.

We are seeking a motivated, creative, detail-oriented, and strategic communications professional to join our team. In this role, you will help execute and support our organization’s communication and marketing goals.

Position Overview

This role is perfect for someone with a keen interest in the arts and experience in communications, marketing, promotions, website and social media management. Working with minimal supervision and a flexible schedule, you will be the voice of the ART HUB, enhancing our online presence and executing our strategic communication goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and lead the day-to-day operation of the ART HUB website (Squarespace).

  • Enhance our online presence by creating and maintaining social media plans using key messages. Design promotional materials, including both static images and video, using Canva.

  • Assist with quarterly newsletter production

  • Assist in implementing a communications strategy that aligns directly with the Peace River Art Club’s strategic plan and communication goals.

  • Actively promote local artists, art programs, workshops, and general ART HUB initiatives.

  • Produce and distribute traditional communication and promotional materials as necessary.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience in marketing, communications, promotions, and social media management, with a solid knowledge of industry best practices and ethics.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient with technology and various software options; specifically comfortable with Squarespace, Facebook, Instagram and Canva.

  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, exceptional written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Logistics & Safety:

    • Must be able to work flexible hours.

    • Must have own transportation and a valid driver’s license.

    • Provision of a current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
