Through the Eyes of the Child, Terry Ladue, Various media. Artist Statement: I want to show how not all new beginnings are good. This is the moment the survivor enters the residential school and has their braids cut off. The survivor looks down at their whole identity on the floor and knows something or someone is lost. Without their identity or family, they feel isolated.
My New Life, Dana Laliberte, Fused Glass. Artist Statement: Ten years ago, when I retired, I vowed to get back in shape and get healthy -- to become an athlete again. I started by hiring a personal trainer, doing aqua-aerobics, working up to swimming 40 lengths and working out three times a week. I changed my diet and generally began looking after myself. My ultimate goal was to learn to paddle board. I figured if I could paddle board, I would have reached that goal. Two summers ago, my son and his family gave me a paddle board for my birthday. I now paddle board at the lake regularly and love it! Some day I am going to paddle board on the ocean.

Mother & Newborn, Rhonda Warren, AI Generated AI generation has been in the news lately, and I decided to create a piece using it. The text input was "mother and newborn child." I did not edit the output. It's an interesting process, but is it art?
Dead Tree & Flowers, Rhonda Warren, Paper Felt/Mixed Media My two circular pieces represent a new direction in my feltmaking. I recently took an online course where I learned to incorporate kozo paper with wool fibres to create paperfelt. Not only does this give new ways to add texture, but it allows the use of materials made for use on paper surfaces. It opens up a whole new array of possibilities!
